Ideas to improve how you feel and function

For physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing

A sensory approach – feel and function better

The resources you’ll find here can be used by anyone. I use them and so do those in my family – and we can’t live without them!

They all use our senses – this is called a Sensory Approach – to help us feel and function better.

I am an occupational therapist so my focus is helping people DO the things that are important in life – whether that is work, play or rest. When life is harder for whatever reasons, many people find DOING things can be an easier and more enjoyable way of improving wellbeing than having to think or talk about worries.

Check out our video and tip sheets which you’re able to download and share.

Or perhaps you’re looking for someone to provide a talk or workshop on how we can use our senses to improve our lives. Please get in touch and let’s see what might work for you. You can contact us here.

I’m also busy working on some exciting projects – THAT MAKES SENSE and PERFORMING UNDER PRESSURE. You can read more below and  Subscribe here if you’d like to receive the latest news on these.

That makes sense

I’m excited to share a project close to my heart. It’s called That Makes Sense. Here you will learn how to use your eight (yes eight!) senses to improve your confidence and wellbeing.

We’ll explore sensory strategies to cope with common worries like anxiety, mood, sleep, and habits that no longer feel helpful. We’ll use our senses to improve the things that are important to you such as relationships, meeting your goals and functioning at your best. The ideas are easy, fast, cost little or nothing and focus on bringing you pleasure and a renewed sense of purpose!

Performing under pressure

A webinar for young people to help with stress and anxiety.

It could be speaking in a group, doing an exam or performing on the stage or field. Or maybe just doing everyday things. Lots of anxiety is normal. We learn about this and the ways our bodies and minds can help us.

Combining the power of words and poems, along with the science of sensory approaches, and with the help of my dog Bam Bam, we’re going to have a lot of fun!
